Andy Panayi is an exceptionally gifted jazz musician, skilled in performance, composition and arranging.

He plays all the flutes and all the saxophones and currently leads his own groups, both jazz and classical. He also writes commissioned works and compositions & arrangements for his own ensembles.

He has also worked alongside or supported Abdulla Ibrahim (Dollar Brand), Freddie Hubbard, Louis Belson Octet and Big Band, Ed Thigpen, Phil Woods, Roy Hargrove, Ronnie Scott, Billy Cobham, Indo-Jazz Fusions run by Johnny Mayer, John Dankworth and Cleo Laine, Humphrey Lyttelton, Pepper Adams, the BBC Big Band with many guests, the Vale of Glamorgan Contemporary Music Festival, the Moscow City Ballet, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the English National Ballet and many more. He was recently a guest player with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Centre Jazz Jazznights Andy Panayi 180218 (55)Orchestra at the Barbican.

Jazznights Andy Panayi 180218 (101)The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) & Trinity College London Exam Boards: Andy works as a consultant/composer/arranger for the ABRSM & Trinity College London specialising in developing the Jazz & Classical syllabuses for future examinations. He is a professor at The Royal College of Music and The Royal Academy of Music in London and the Birmingham Conservatoire.

Andy has received The Marty Paich Arranging Award, The John Dankworth Soloist Award, The Worshipful Company of Musicians Jazz Medal and the British Jazz Awards for his Jazz Flute performances.

Andy works with the examination boards, the ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall helping to set syllabus music for the grades. He has been awarded the Marty Paich Arranging Award, the John Dankworth Soloist Award, the Worshipful Company of Musicians Jazz Medal and the British Jazz Award for Jazz Flute.

Tonight we had the pleasure of vocalist Carol Bleiker singing But Not For Me and Geoff Harriman playing Georgia On My Mind on his Harmonica

Throughout a remarkable career, Martin has recorded with Eurythmics, Elkie Brooks, Cliff Richard amongst many others and toured with Marvin Gaye, Johnny Mathis, Supremes, Four Tops and the Temptations to name just a few. He has performed on countless TV and Film sessions and he now fronts his own band “Midnight Oil”.

A D’Addario Artist and a former clarinet professor at the Leeds College of Music (UK), Luciano is one of the few specialists of classical, jazz and contemporary music at HE level and has held the only existing position of jazz-clarinet lecturer in the UK for several years. His areas of research include extended techniques and new compositions for solo clarinet also presented during his master-classes andJazznights Luca Luciano 040218 (72) lecture-recitals (in the UK, Europe and South America) and regularly premiered at St Martin in the Fields in London, Cambridge University and overseas. Over the past decade, Luca has found himself increasingly in demand as a soloist and has pursued a career as a solo artist touring extensively Europe and South America, focusing primarily on his own music and performing at venues as diverse as: the South Bank Centre, Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Edinburgh Festival, King’s Hall, SESI International Series and the Centro Cultural in Sao Paulo, European Clarinet Festival, St David’s Cathedral Festival in Wales, Politeama Theatre in Naples, American Cathedral in Paris.

Aside from his renowned solo clarinet work, Luca has appeared on TV programs nationwide (RTE Ireland, SKY Brazil, RAI Television Italy), collaborated with orchestras Jazznights Luca Luciano 040218 (151)also as a soloist (Italy, Republic of Ireland, Brazil) and with chamber music ensembles (also recording live for BBC Radio 3 at the Royal Festival Hall).
